KRTS News reports that ballot order selections were made throughout the Tri-County region on this day, Monday March 12, in advance of the Tuesday, May 29 primary elections. This democratic process results in the positioning of names on the May ballots. A reminder that school board and municipal candidates will be voted upon during the Saturday May 12 elections.
The ballot selections for Jeff Davis and Brewster counties are being held in their home counties. Ballot selection was made on-the-air at the KRTS Studios for the Presidio County Democratic Party. The Presidio County Republican Party does not have a Chair, consequently unless someone is appointed by the GOP State chair, there was no ballot order selection. KRTS extended the offer for ballot selection to all area groups.
Many were in attendance at the ballot drawing, which was held in front of the picture window at the KRTS Studios. Candidates, their representatives, and other citizens were also in attendance. Party chair Buck Johnston of Marfa prepared the names to be drawn from a hat, and Elbert Bassham of Marfa made the selections live on-air.
Ballot order results for both Presidio and Brewster counties will be shared after the jump.
