Become a Community Correspondent, learn new skills and make new friends.

Never miss a city council meeting? Always finding interesting stories in the Big Bend? Go to a lot of community events or concerts? If you're interested in sharing your knowledge and experience with Marfa Public Radio listeners, become one of our volunteer Community Correspondents.

We're looking for engaged citizens from across the Big Bend. A Community Correspondent assists Marfa Public Radio with news gathering and producing stories from the community you live in. Possible Community Correspondent volunteer activities include, but are not limited to: informing the station about story ideas found in your community, reporting on upcoming events happening in your community, covering events happening in your community, writing news stories and filing stories via phone, and, working with news staff on producing stories with actualities. Community Correspondents will be able to check out recording gear from Marfa Public Radio.

Community Correspondents should have a strong interest in public radio journalism, local news and current events. Writing, research and reporting skills are a plus.
