In statewide elections, West Texas isn’t as important to candidates as more populous parts of the state. In the governor’s race, though, Republican nominee Greg Abbott passed through the Permian Basin this week, and Wendy Davis made a visit to Marfa in late summer.
Candidates press the flesh, but they also get the word out through social media – especially to the millennial generation.
