Unless you’ve been in a complete media black out over the last week, you know that a solar eclipse crossed the United States today. Here in West Texas, we experienced a partial eclipse, but many people traveled to get a better view. JP Schwartz, aka Doc Cactus, who deejay’s Far Out West Texas Blue Monday Show on this public radio station, traveled to Midvale, Idaho to see the full eclipse. Reporter Bayla Metzger spoke with him about the international crowds he met, the other-worldliness of the moment of totality, and what music could pair best with the event.
