Saturday April 28 @ 7:15 PM: Stewart Billingsley, the Fire Marshall of Jeff Davis County and Judge George Grubb, the County Judge, have ordered an evacuation of the Davis Mountain Resort in response to increased risk posed by the Livermore Ranch Fire. Marfa Public Radio spoke to Jim Fowler, spokesperson for the Fort Davis Fire Department, at 8:30pm who dispatched the following evacuation order from the Fire Marshall:

"There is a wildfire slowly approaching the Davis Mountains Resort from the north west. Due to the danger posed by this fire DMR residents are urged to evacuate in a calm and orderly manner. There is time before the arrival of the fire to evacuate safely. Please take with you any necessary items, especially medications. Once you have evacuated you cannot return until the emergency has passed. Someone will be at the cattle guard to check you out so we can account for as many residents as possible.  Again once you have departed the DMR you will not be able to return until the emergency has passed.  Thank you for your cooperation."

Residents that do not have a place to go are directed to go to the Fort Davis Elementary School gymnasium.
