Oklahoma-based Magellan Midstream Partners is adding to its core of pipelines in the Lone Star State. The new pipeline will originate in the Delaware Basin and transport crude -oil and condensate.
The Oklahoma-based company says the 60-mile pipeline will run from Wink to Crane, Texas, where it will join with existing infrastructure that connects to Houston and marine export facilities in the Texas coast.
In a press release last week, the company's chief executive officer Michael Mears said Magellan "is ideally situated to meet growing industry demand for a crude oil and condensate pipeline system with access to customers originating from the Delaware Basin."
The new pipeline will have the initial capacity to carry an estimated 250,000 barrels per day, or BPD. Officials say this amount can increase up to 600,000 if the industry demands are there. The project will also see the construction of a terminal in Wink.
The company expects the project to cost an estimated $150 million and will open its doors by mid-2019.
