Law enforcement helicopters seen flying over the area this morning (Wednesday March 14) were searching for two persons who had fled from Border Patrol agents after their car was stopped on Hwy 90 in east Marfa early this morning. The search for the two detainees is still underway.

KRTS intern Alice Quinlan spoke with Border Patrol Public Relations officer Bill Brooks, who categorized the incident as a “bail out”, meaning that when Border Patrol agents stopped the suspicious vehicle, two of the vehicle’s occupants fled on foot. Of the three persons in the vehicle one was apprehended at the scene by Border Patrol agents, while two persons remain at large.

Brooks also stated that a “large amount of marijuana” was spotted inside the vehicle, which is now in the possession of the Border Patrol.

Border Patrol is currently searching for the two persons who remain at large.
