The Ghost(town) of Christmas Present

Terlingua kicked off the holiday season with a community celebration at The Starlight Theatre Wednesday night. Santa, home-baked Christmas goodies provided by the Starlight and Kathy Wisdom, and a performance by the Terlingua Community Choir led by Ted Arbogast made the evening a special one to remember. Bill and Lisa Ivey, owners of the Starlight, reserved the entire main stage area for the occasion but participants spilled over into the main dining room as well. As always, the visit by Santa capped a wonderful evening for the children. One child was overheard asking Santa if it would be a white Christmas . . . with the weather the way it's been lately, who knows?

Next Tuesday, December 17, marks the annual Holiday Celebration at Big Bend Ranch State Park's Barton Warnock Visitor Center near Lajitas.  The party is from 6:30-8:30 and everyone is welcome.  The Terlingua Community Choir will again be performing, there will be a special reading for the children, wonderful treats for young and old and, rumor has it, another visit from Santa.
