Leiber and Stoller with Elvis.

Tune in this afternoon for two specials on KRTS. At 3 PM, tune in for a tribute to famed lyricist Jerome "Jerry" Leiber, who died Monday. Hear Nick Spitzer of "American Routes" interview Leiber and his songwriting partner Mike Stoller, followed by an encore edition of KRTS's Booknotes. Steve Anderson reviews Hound Dog: The Leiber & Stoller Autobiography .

Then at 7 PM, Marketplace presents "The Breakdown" an hour-long special. Host Kai Ryssdal and Marketplace Senior Editor Paddy Hirsch discuss the major financial events from 2008 to now. New York Bureau Chief Heidi Moore explains what is behind the drastic market swings. Marketplace also reports on the biggest impact of the economic crisis to individuals: joblessness. How do we create more jobs? Is 9% unemployment the new normal? Marketplace will ask the tough questions.

KRTS's classic Wednesday lineup follows with "Old Timey" at 8 PM, and Dave Leonnig's "Geography of Jazz" starting at 9 PM.
