On Monday, Marfa Public Radio celebrates iconic Texas musician, Willie Nelson, on his 79th birthday. The songs of Willie Nelson run deep through the KRTS Music Library, and you may have heard some selections Monday morning on 93.5 FM.
Listen at 3pm, with Al Davis, and at 8pm, with J.P. Schwartz, and again at 11pm, for an hour of music by the "red-headed stranger." Plus, recognition at 4:20 PM this afternoon during an NPR break of All Things Considered.
Joe Nick Patoski - a KRTS DJ who hosts "The Texas Music Hour of Power" once-a-month on Saturday night - recently published a biography entitled Willie Nelson: An Epic Life.
Coincidentally, another Texas music legend, Terry Allen, is in Marfa today, previewing his upcoming album by driving around our roadways, listening to the mastered recording in his vehicle.
