UPDATE 9:50 PM: As of now Brewster, Jeff Davis, and Presidio County are reporting that their 911 systems are back online.
UPDATE 8 PM: Brewster County reports 911 is operational again.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Marfa Public Radio received a call from the Presidio County Sheriff's Department that the 911 system is not operational throughout the Tri-County region. Tests by KRTS News confirmed that 911 was not working in several areas.
In lieu of the emergency call system, officials encourage area residents to contact their local sheriff's department.
