Lonn Taylor is a weekly commentator for Marfa Public Radio, with his Rambling Boy program on Fridays at 11 AM. He is also well-versed on American history, including U.S. flags. He is the author of The Star-Spangled Banner: The Flag That Inspired the National Anthem. Last year he appeared nationally on the Colbert Report to discuss the Star-Spangled Banner. Taylor wrote an essay in the Washington Spectator entitled "A Flag Hijacked By Modern Segregationists."

In his latest radio episode, he describes how the Confederate battle flag, recently removed from the South Carolina statehouse, took on new meaning in the years following the U.S. Civil War. You can download his weekly podcast from iTunes.
