In yesterday's Democratic primary runoffs, Eleazar Cano secured an easy victory over incumbent Brewster County Judge Kathy Killingsworth.

Killingsworth was appointed to the seat late last year, and took office in January.

Cano gathered a total of 1033 votes compared with Killingsworth's 462. He'll now go on to face Republican challenger Jerry Johnson in the November general election.

The two recently visited the KRTS studios for a discussion on issues ranging from city funding and infrastructure to water issues and public meetings.

In the runoff for Justice of the Peace Pct. 1, Gilbert Valenzuela topped Ida Sotello, netting 715 votes to Sotello's 435. Valenzuela will face Republican Robert Steele in November.
