KRTS mourns the passing of two friends of KRTS who lived near Alpine.

Nora (Seymour) Armstrong died last Wednesday (November 9); she had occasionally hosted classical music on 93.5 FM. Yesterday would have been her birthday. A rosary will be said for Nora this (Monday, November 14) evening at 7:00 pm, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 406 S. 6th Street, Alpine, Texas.  Her funeral is Tuesday morning at 10:00 am.

Texas music legend Doyle Bramhall died yesterday (Sunday, November 13) at his home in Calamity Creek, south of Alpine. He sometimes appeared on the Blues Monday program on KRTS. There will be a musical tribute to Doyle tonight during the radio program, beginning at 7:20 PM. Doyle's friend Mark Pollock will co-host the program.

Bramhall performed with The Chessman, The Nightcrawlers, co-wrote several hits for Stevie Ray Vaughan, and released three solo albums. Among the obituaries are DFW, HoustonSpinner, and Chronicle. Services for Doyle will be in Austin on Monday, November 21 at 2:30 pm, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd.
