Baseball season is coming back to West Texas! The Cowboys' first game of the season was Tuesday, May 14, against the White Sands Pupfish on Tuesday in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This season's complete schedule is available here.

Get yourself in the spirit with Marfa Public Radio and listen to our 2010 special on the Alpine Cowboys: “Big Time Baseball in a Small Town." It's the story of Herbert Kokernot, his baseball field, and a town that loved both. Think “Field of Dreams," but in Alpine, Texas in the 40s and 50s. Sam Griffin produced the special. KRTS also spoke to Ryan Stevens, Field Manager & Director of Baseball for the Alpine Cowboys. Stevens gave listeners a preview of the season ahead.
