The Midland Chief of Police, who started the job in January, has been placed on administrative leave.

The move comes following a formal complaint against Midland Chief of Police Steve Henry, according to city officials. "The nature of the complaint is alleged conduct that violates the Harassment Policy of the City of Midland’s Personnel Policies," reads a press release from the City.

"We take all complaints and allegations extremely seriously," said Midland Mayor Jerry Morales. "That is why we have hired outside counsel to investigate the complaint thoroughly and objectively.”

The investigation into the complaint is expected to take at least 30 days.

Henry came out of retirement to serve as the chief of police. Previously, Henry was a chief deputy in Arizona.
