photo-12-2
Alpine home after vehicle crashed into wall, April 29, 2013.

Update Monday 9:15 PM: Brewster County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the 17-year-old driver (Erika Novosad) and the 15-year-old who was struck and briefly trapped by the vehicle (Lydia Jones).

Monday: Around 8 AM Monday morning (April 29), a pickup truck crashed into a home on Hwy 118, or N 5th Street, in Alpine, sending one girl to the hospital.

While there is no official word on the girl's condition, KRTS news spoke to Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson, who said the girl was "ok" and at the hospital with her parents.

The driver of the red Chevrolet pickup truck involved in the accident was a high school student who apparently lost control of the vehicle.

A joint investigative team, including an Alpine Police Officer and a Brewster County Sheriff's deputy, are currently trying to determine how this accident occurred.
