Presidio County results are in - and, as expected, Presidio County broke from Brewster and Jeff Davis Counties to give wins to Democratic candidates. Looking at the federal and regional elections, Presidio County pulled for Barack Obama (1,273) over Mitt Romney (504) in the presidential race, for Paul Sadler (795) over Ted Cruz (478) in the U.S. Senate, for challenger Pete Gallego (1,290) over Quico Canseco (491) for U.S. Congress. Regionally, in the contest for State Representative, District 74, Poncho Nevarez received more votes (1,067) than Thomas Kincaid (377).

This election year, only Democrats filed for election in Presidio County, so county races were decided in the May 29 primary and the July 31 runoff.
