On Friday afternoon, there was a small grassfire at the entrance to Cibolo Creek Ranch along Highway 67, south of Marfa. The fire burned about 15 acres.
KRTS News spoke with Gary Mitschke of the Marfa Volunteer Fire Department, who said that crews arrived around 2 PM and had the fire under control by 3:20 PM. Mitschke said the fire was a result of a discarded cigarette.
