Wednesday, August 7, 11 AM: Sul Ross State University continues on lockdown as they search for a man who allegedly brought a rifle onto campus in violation of university policies.
But what are the policies for guns at universities in Texas? We speak with Reeve Hamilton who covers politics and higher education for the Texas Tribune, which recently published a poll on statewide opinions over the issue. According to the poll:
Allowing faculty, staff and students to carry concealed handguns on college campuses is supported by 46 percent of Texas voters and opposed by 48 percent.

Recently, in Midland there was a live debate on the issue as part of the Shepperd Distinguished Lecture Series.
