Weekend Scores Roundup

In football news, the Marfa Shorthorns suffered a dramatic defeat on Friday night, losing 48-0 against Garden City. The loss was the Horns’ first on their own turf. The Balmorhea Bears were also shut out against Grandfalls-Royalty, losing 46-0 on the Cowboys’ field. The Fort Davis Indians put up a strong fight against the Rankin Red Devils, but the high-scoring game still ended in Rankin’s favor, with a final score of 76-30. 

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks gained their seventh win of the season on Friday, defeating the Stanton Buffaloes 27-0. The Sul Ross Lobos were less fortunate, losing 86-42 on Saturday in Abilene after a hard battle against Hardin-Simmons University. The Lobos managed only a TD and extra point before the half, and despite a seeming third-quarter rally of 35 points, failed to score in the fourth.

The Alpine Fightin’ Ladybucks volleyball team lost in 3 sets to Seminole on Saturday.
