The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks football team travels to Muleshoe tomorrow (Friday, September 28) to take on the Mighty Mules, coming off a homecoming game win against Anthony last Friday. Also on Friday, the Fort Davis Indians (2-2) will host the Balmorhea Bears (3-1), while the Marfa Shorthorns (2-2) enter their third week of away games, traveling to Fort Hancock to battle the Mustangs (2-1.) (Shorthorns football returns to Martin Field in Marfa October 12.) After losing 48-44 to Marfa last weekend, the Sierra Blanca Vaqueros (2-2) travel to El Paso to face off against the Jesus Chapel Chargers (2-2.)
Fightin’ Ladybucks volleyball continues in Alpine this weekend, with the team hosting Midland Trinity on Saturday. The Ladybucks are coming off a win last Saturday against Marfa, and have a current record of 12-10. The Marfa squad travels to Balmorhea this weekend, while Marathon heads to Fort Davis.
After grabbing their first win of the season against Trinity University two weeks ago and resting up last weekend, the Sul Ross Lobos (1-2) will host University of Mary-Hardin Baylor (3-0) at Jackson Field in Alpine.
