Where and When to Vote for Alpine and Presidio Elections

Election day for area city and school positions is this Saturday, May 11th from 7 am to 7 pm. Here's where to vote:

Alpine:
Vote at Counsel Chambers at 801 West Holland.
This election decides who takes over the Alpine City Counsel Ward 3 seat, since Carlos Lujan isn't seeking re-eclection. Candidates for his position are Dian Raun and Jim Fitzgerald.

Presidio:
City Election: Vote at Presidio City Hall at 507 W. O’Reilly St.
There are two City Counsel positions available, those of Butch Acosta and Obed Escontrias.
Candidates are: John Edward Schaefer, Grace Allie Perot, Ahmed Baeza Benavidez, Jesus Jose Chavez Garcia, Mario Vargas, Armando Saez-Albo, and Cruz Madrid. The two candidates with the most votes will win the positions.

Three candidates are running for Mayor: the current Mayor, Obed Escontrias, former Major, John Ferguson, and Esperanza Carrasco.

School Election: Vote at the Administration Building at 701 E. Market St.
The Presidio School District has four positions on the ballot, Those of president Carlos Nieto, vice president Carmen Elguezabal, secretary Abelardo Franco, and trustee Marco Baeza.
Candidates are Carlos Nieto, Carmen Elguezabal, Abelardo Franco, Velva I. Saenz, Kasey Taylor, Ronald A. Galliete, Helio Franco, Teodoro Escontrias, and Alfred P. Muñiz. Positions will be assigned to the four candidates with the most votes.
