Anne & Rachel of KRTS on Hwy 90 1.5 miles west of Marfa. Robert of Sentinel also on the scene.

Saturday, 1:50 PM - KRTS staffer and local resident Rachel Osier Lindley saw her neighbor's house burst into flames this afternoon. The fire was reported 1.5 miles west of Marfa on Highway 90. No traffic currently can cross on Hwy 90. (Traffic is now restored to Hwy 9o).

The fire moved agressively to the north and threatens west side of Marfa. The fire moved past the Village Farms and the Marfa Airport toward the Jeff Davis County Line. Traffic on Highway 17 now closed about 2-3 miles north of Marfa, near Village Farms greenhouse.

As of 3:50 PM, residents of Mano Prieto have been asked to be evacuated. They are advised to take Hwy 118 instead of Hwy 17. Union Pacific traffic stopped. Marfa Airport also closed.
