Mine's Reopening Causes Water Concerns

After 70 years, the Shafter Silver Mine has been reopened. Production has begun for what the mine’s new owner believes will be a lucrative run lasting as long as 10 years. But the company’s public filings on the amount of water the mine will remove from the area’s underground water table has some area residents and politicians concerned. Lorne Matalon reports.
