Marfa Public Radio has won six awards from the public media group Public Media News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI).

The station was awarded for its radio work on a variety of topics, ranging from arts and breaking news to sports.

The annual PRNDI Awards pit local public radio stations against one another in an effort to find the very best public radio reporting in a variety of categories from Arts Reporting to Spot News.

The awards to Marfa Public Radio were among 173 handed out to 72 public media organizations across the country at this year's PRNDI conference in St. Louis, MO.

"This year's competition was fierce with over 1,200 entries submitted," said George Bodarky, PRNDI President.

Here's a list of stories that received awards.
