Thursday July 28 1 PM: There is a grassland fire on the Hip-O Ranch, which is west of Marfa, roughly along Highway 90, on the north side of the highway. Smoke is now visible from the road.
There are at least three fire department vehicles on the scene. It is believed to be a flare-up from an earlier lightning strike.
Though the fire is not under control, it is currently being managed.
