More Power Outages in the Trans-Pecos

mpr_logo-3

Power was lost at 9:30 AM to the Trans-Pecos towns of Marfa, Valentine, Fort Davis, and Shafter.  AEP Texas spokesperson Larry Jones said "We do not yet know the source of the problem.  It's too soon to predict when power will return."

Jones indicated that power was lost between the Barilla Junction connection to the Amalito Creek Substation.  He also said there was a loss of connectivity between Alpine and Marfa.  Power came back on at 10:29 AM to the towns.  In addition there were power flickers, or brown outs, in Marfa at 8:45 and at 10:45.

Schools remained in session.
