83rd District Attorney Race: The Candidates in Their Own Words

screen-shot-2016-11-07-at-10-51-01-am
Republican Sandy Wilson (L) and Democrat Jaime Escuder (R), candidates for 83rd District Attorney.

The race for 83rd District Attorney in Brewster, Jeff Davis, Pecos and Presidio Counties is among the few competitive races in Big Bend country. Many local-level races only had one party on the ballot in the March primary, so those races have already been decided.

In February, Democratic candidate for 83rd DA Jaime Escuder laid out his vision for the office in an interview with then-incumbent DA Rod Ponton. (Escuder ousted Ponton in the primary, and Ponton is now running as a write-in candidate for Presidio County Attorney.)

Listen back to that interview below.

During the primary season, we also spoke with the Republican candidate for 83rd DA, Sandy Wilson. Wilson did not have a challenger from her party in the primary. Listen to that interview below.
